Adding a Touch of Elegance: A Guide to Wearing Boutonnieres on Your Wedding Day

Congratulations, you're getting married! With so many details to plan for the big day, you might forget about one of the smallest yet most important accessories - the boutonniere. The boutonniere is a small floral arrangement that is traditionally worn on the lapel of a groom's suit or tuxedo. It's a subtle but elegant way to add a pop of color to your wedding day attire.

If you're not sure how to put on a boutonniere, don't worry - it's easier than you think! Here's a step-by-step guide to help you:

Step 1: Place The Boutonniere On The Left Lapel

The first step is to position the boutonniere on the left lapel of your jacket. If you're pinning the boutonniere on someone else, it should be placed to the right of the tie. The boutonniere should be positioned lower than the tie, but above the pocket square.

Step 2: Fold The Lapel Over the Boutonniere

Once you've positioned the boutonniere, fold the lapel over it to form a taco shape. This will allow you to see the back of the lapel, where you'll be inserting the pin.

Step 3: Slide The Needle Downward Into The Back Of The Lapel

Take the pin that comes with the boutonniere and insert it at a downward angle through both sides of the lapel, making sure to stick it through the thickest part of the boutonniere - the flower stem. This will help keep the boutonniere in place throughout the event. You can also use two pins for added stability.

After you've pinned the boutonniere, check to make sure the needle is not visible from the front and the boutonniere is secure. And that's it! You're now ready to show off your stylish boutonniere on your wedding day.

By following these easy steps, you'll be able to confidently wear your boutonniere and add an extra touch of elegance to your wedding day look. And as a wedding photographer, I'll be there to capture all the beautiful moments, including your stunning boutonniere.
